Job Summary:

The Senior QA Automation Engineer at Assured Data Protection is a member of the agile development team and has a key role in ensuring our software is reliable and supports to minimize errors and defects. The role of a Senior QA Automation Engineer is to be a role model for good quality automation tests and guide others in best practices in automated software testing. You will have excellent knowledge in all aspects of the software development and testing lifecycle working in an Agile environment. You will help in ensuring that our software meets the defined requirements, quality, and our clients’ expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Testing:

• Excellent knowledge and experience in different testing types.
• Excellent knowledge of automation frameworks.
• Experience in creating an automation framework.
• Experience in creating stable automation tests.
• Able to mentor other members of the testing team in automation best practices.
• Be able to differentiate between test types for what is required at different stages in the development and testing lifecycle.
• Experience in analysing Acceptance Criteria and produce good quality tests according to the requirements.
• Provide clear and concise defect reports and able to document / demonstrate steps to reproduce.
• Chase and highlight any risks in the current sprint and escalate in a timely manner.
• Able to communicate with stakeholders at various levels.
• Able to prioritize and risk access testing workload on tight timescales.
• Ability to prioritize and organise tasks.

Testing Processes:

• Contribute and highlight areas of improvement to our software testing processes.
• Be a key member of the Agile development team and promote the ways of working and our Scrum adoption.
• Collaborate closely with the team to determine the software requirements defined.

Developers:

• Work closely with the developers to ensure work is completed and tested within the agreed deadlines.
• Maintain software quality through testing protocols, and documentation practices.
• Contribute to software releases by ensuring they are tested to the correct level and risks have been minimized.

Collaboration:

• Able to work with other teams such as Support/ Marketing/ Client Services to ensure our software is tested in line with their needs.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• 5+ Years experience of a variety of software testing including Automation Testing, ideally in an Agile working environment (Scrum or Kanban).
• Excellent knowledge of the software development and testing lifecycle, automation frameworks, and agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Experience in automating UI test, ideally more than one tool and framework.

Desirable Attributes and Technical Skills:

• ISTQB Foundation.
• Automation Testing UI.
• Knowledge of Mobile Testing (nice to have).
• Willingness to learn new skills.
• Mentoring experience.
• Knowledge of a coding language.
• Jira/ Confluence or other project management tools.
• MySQL/ SQL Databases.
• Postman (nice to have).
• Playwright.
• VSCode (nice to have).
• QAlityPlus (nice to have).
