Some 80% of all in-store payments in the European Union are electronic* these days. While financial institutions continue moving data and critical operations to the public cloud at significant scale and speed, it’s no surprise that the EU introduced the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), or Regulation (EU) 20222/2554, at the end of 2022.
DORA aims to increase the resilience of the EU’s Financial Sector, by mandating rules for protecting against ICT-related incidents, including detection, containment, recovery, and repair. It also addresses ICT risk management, incident reporting, operational resilience testing, and third-party ICT risk monitoring.
